And his enemies.
Reuniting with Dad’s old biker friends was the start of my nightmare, but it also lead me to him. Dallas Milburn, my brother’s best friend and my childhood crush. He may look like a bad-ass biker, but I'm slowly learning that he's more than his image.
With a watcher on my tail, my brother out of sight, and Dallas in my bed, I’m a prime target for the Slight of Man.
Like the old adage says, never judge a book by its cover.

EXCERPT:
The door creaking open pulls me from my thoughts and I turn towards the sound. I expected a scantily clad waitress to be joining us with our supper order, but instead, it's the delectable Dallas carrying a full tray. With his every movement, my heart-beat ramps up, keeping in time with his heavy footfalls on the worn wooden floor. I can’t take my eyes off him. His dark hair hangs long over his shoulders, bouncing as he crosses the room. The arm bearing the weight of the food tray exposes the muscles straining against the thin fabric of his black T-shirt. But it’s his thick thighs that grab my attention. Wrapped in faded denim, every step he takes gives a hint at the muscles hidden beneath.
“Hey, Kick, thanks for grabbing the grub,” Bob says as Dallas places the tray on the table.
“No prob, Bob. Trina has a full house out there, so I told her I’d bring it back for you guys.” He angles toward me and his lips turn up into an absolutely panty melting grin. “Hey, Andi, hope you’re hungry,” he says in his slow southern drawl.
Hungry? Yeah, but not for the burger he has just delivered. Fuck me! This man is hot with a capital H. “Ah, yeah, um thanks, Dallas.” My eyes don’t quite meet his. He is the kind of hot that makes me almost uncomfortable. I know that if I allow him to look into my eyes he will surely see the naughty images playing in my mind.

About the author:
In school, teachers always told her “write what you know”, so that is what she did. At the not so tender age of forty-three, she started to write her first novel, I Am ShelbyJames (Beauty in the Darkness) and it is what she knows—emotions.
In her spare time—when she’s not writing—you can find Brooke cuddled on the couch with her husband of 20+ years, their fur babies, and a good (often naughty) eBook—unless of course she’s having cocktails with her Bestie at one of their favorite haunts.
Growing up, Brooke’s mother instilled a deep respect for the English language and a love of words. She taught Brooke to read and write and shared her appreciation for poetry. As a teen, poetry became an outlet for Brooke’s innermost thoughts and deepest, often times darkest feelings.
