Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing S.I. Hayes and Jess Haney author of:

ME: Hi Ladies, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself and your background?

S.I. and JESS: This is kind of funny because when we first started writing A County Fair Romance everyone thought we lived close to one another but that couldn't be further from the truth. I'm (Jess) a Kentucky gal through and through

much like our Fallon. Where I'm (S.I.) from Connecticut transplanted into Ohio. With Jess being a country gal and me being a Yankee we figured that it would be interesting to see how our different backgrounds and views would transpire on the page with two characters in love.

ME: What genre do you write?

S.I. and JESS: A little of this and a little of that. Jess writes what we like to call Real-Life Romance. It touches those iffy topics that some hate to talk about. So, together we make sure to keep with it. S.I. writes Erotica, Horror, Fantasy and the list just keeps growing. 

ME: What are you working on at the minute?

S.I. and JESS: Oh Jesus let's see...

JESS: I am working on A Heart Strings Love Affair book

Brothers PI book 2 as well as couple other projects.

S.I.: I am not working on anything on her own but together we are working on A County Fair Romance book five, A Sex, Drugs & Rock book four, Working Class Beauties book two, Love at Rincon Point, Under His Skin, and Kincaid Falls.

Damn that's a lot of books but hey it keeps the readers happy, right?

ME: Can you share a little of your current work with us?

 S.I. and JESS: Harvest time, six babies, a senior and pregnant again for the

Blackthorne/Hopkins Clan. That’s not counting business expansions, wedding plans, and Justin and Fallon learning the roles of their new lives. When you tie all that into one. This group is in for on hell of a Fall.

ME: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?

S.I. and JESS: Jason Moma for Steve and Dove Cameron for Crystal. 

ME: While you were writing, do you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?

S.I. and JESS: All the time. We have to get into the head space of the character just to write them.

ME: When did you decide to become a writer?

S.I. HAYES I've literally been telling stories since I learned to talk. I wrote my first short story when I was seven.

JESS: Lord I'm always telling stories. In school, we were always told to write short stories and what's funny is I also wrote about a haunted house and I can scary stuff.

ME: Which writers inspire you?

JESS: I love Alice Clayton, A.M. Willard and most diffidently Louisa May Alcott. If it wasn't for Little Women I'd still hate reading.  There are plenty of authors but these are who I say when asked who I'd suggest.

S.I.:  Anne Rice. Dean Koontz, Margaret Wies, Douglas Adams, and Adam

Leak.

ME: Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?

S.I. and JESS: We both use the computer as well as dictate.

ME: Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer to just see where an idea takes you?

S.I. and JESS: We've tried to outline and plot but the characters always do what they want and we just have to go with the flow.

ME: What book are you reading now?

S.I.: I'm not reading anything at the moment.

JESS: Right now, I'm reading or well listening to Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra

Torre getting ready for the movie to come on Passionflix.

ME: Do you think that giving books away free works and why?

S.I. and JESS: We do because usually that's how we get new readers.

ME: How do you relax?

S.I. and JESS: What's that?

ME: What is your favorite quote?

S.I.: We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars - Oliver Wilde

JESS: Have I gone Mad? I'm afraid so. You're entirely Bonkers. But I'll tell you a Secret, All The Best People Are. - Alice In Wonderland

ME: What advice would you give to aspiring writers? 

S.I. and JESS: Have faith and remember it doesn't happen overnight.

ME: What does your writing process look like?

S.I. and JESS: Notebooks, Calendars, Spreadsheets, and OMG the bickering LOL

ME: What is your least favorite part of the publishing / writing process?

S.I. and JESS: Publishing because that's where editing, formatting, covers and all that fun junk come into place.

ME: Is there a certain type of scene that's harder for you to write than others? 

Love? Action? Racy?

S.I.: Humorous, I can't write funny shit just to be funny.

JESS: I hate sexual scenes but I can write them.

ME: Did you learn anything from writing your book(s) and what was it?

S.I. and JESS: Life happens you just have to pick the pieces and keep going.

ME: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

S.I. and JESS: That's the great thing about writing with a partner you always have somebody who is there to support your work.

ME: Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?

JESS: Mine would be a fiction character, Sig from Guardians of Grigori by S.I.

S.I.: Jason Moma because I'd love to see if he could really break the bed.

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to write about?

S.I.: When I'm writing with Jess I'm just along for the ride and when I'm writing alone I never know what direction my stories will unfold. So, I can't pick a genre because I never know where is going to lie.

JESS: I like writing about things that happen every day. I'm always adding a new social issue that I feel needs to be touched.

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to read?

JESS: Romance.

S.I.: Paranormal. 

ME: What secret talents do you have?

JESS: Honestly, I don't have any.

S.I.: I can't not disclose that information and have this interview stay PG.

ME: If you had a superpower, what would it be?

JESS: I'd like to be able to know everything so that I can cure cancer, autism and the stuff that they are still researching.

S.I.: I'd like to be able to fly because traveling would be easier.

ME: Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?

JESS: Scotland, Rome, you name anywhere but here and I want to see it.

S.I.:  In this country I'd like to go to California but I'd also like to see Ireland and Australia.

My Review: I must say I won a copy of this book with no promises in return and offer my complete honest review. I heard people talk about this book and author and was excited to win a copy of this book and I was not disappointed. Hot, steamy, sexy just do not do justice to this book. This book is all of those words and more. This is the first time I have read a romance book from a man’s point of view and I must say I really did enjoy the insight. The characters are believable and the story line is plausible making this book even better. The author takes you on a sensual ride from the first page to the last keeping wanting more and turning pages unable to stop reading. This is a must read.

My Review: Having read the first 3 books in this series I have been waiting to read this book and was not disappointed with it at all. Once again the author created great group of characters, most of which we have met in the previous 3 books but with the focus on the new witch in town Carmen and our second in command Aiden. This series has always been a must read and this book is no different. only wish it was longer.

My Review: Can I give it more than 5 stars? This book is absolutely amazing, every time I thought I knew what was really happening a twist was thrown in the mix which kept me guessing till the end when the truth of it all was revealed. This book is about love, not just about loving someone but loving them enough to let go so they can move on and love again. This book is heartfelt and tear jerker in parts but will keep you wanting more from the first page to the last. A must read!

My Review: This is the first book in a new series by these two talented authors and they hit it out of the park. This story grabs you and sucks you in and holds you tight to the very end, I stayed up until 2am to finish this book because I simply could not put it down. The characters are all well thought out and complement each other and the book flows perfectly at a nice pace throughout. The story line is raw and emotional dealing with addiction, abuse and the mental issues that can come from them. This is a one click must!

Between dealing with my father’s house and the guys breathing down my neck, I need a break. I run upstairs for my shoes, then wait for them to settle in. Clayton takes off and Vic’s messing around in the kitchen when I barrel out the door.

I head for the one place I know I can get rid of this stress. I see Clayton, so I push down a little harder on the gas, drop the gearshift, and fly past him. I just need space every now and then. Since I moved in with Clayton, I don’t get a lot of me time. I’m always split between Vic and Clayton, except when Wayde and Adam are joining us.

I pull up to a place out by the warehouses where we like to drag race. It’s a bit of old road that comes to a dead end that no one uses anymore. Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran, Duran is playing on the radio when I roll down the window to let Mike know that I want in on the action tonight. I hand him two hundred to place my bet, then head for the line, no clue who I’m facing off against. That is till I pull up to the line and I’ll be damned if Harmand isn’t sitting in the car beside me. Fucker must have got a new car because I haven’t seen this one before. It’s a silver Mustang, brand new, and I’m sure it’s got all the bells and whistles under the hood. Too bad, though, it ain’t got shit on my Hemi.

Harmand motions for me to roll down my window, so I do. “You ready to lose, Princess?” he shouts, revving his engine.

“I ain’t losing shit. You need to go back and tell them you need to change spots because the chick that whipped your ass is about to do it again.”

“Come on now, Princess, don’t you want to play a little? I know you used to love playing with me.”

“Pig. Can’t you find someone else to pester?”

“Not tonight. Oh, I meant to tell you, I can’t wait for next weekend. It’s that time again.”

I roll up my window, I don’t want to listen to it anymore. I know what he’s talking about, but I don’t live there anymore, so he’s going to be shit out of luck.

Mike taps the hoods and we roll down the windows as he goes over the rules. “To the dividers and back, first one over the line wins!” he shouts over the crowd of kids. Cars are lined up on both sides of the drag, all up and down the line, their headlights beaming, showing the trail. I nod, gripping the steering wheel.

“Ready to eat my dust, Princess?” Harmand shouts.

“Suck my cock!” I yell back as Giselle steps out in front of us to set us up. I’m half tempted to aim for her. She puts her arms up and with a twist of her hips, drops the flags and we go.

I drop into second fast, turning it up as Harmand gains on me at the midpoint, we are neck and neck as we approach the divider. I hit third and slam past him, my tires squealing as I pop up on two wheels, making the sharp turn. I floor it as I see him gaining on me again. Just when I think I’ve got him beat, he grabs my drift and is right alongside me. I glance at him and I can see it in his eyes, he’s gonna slam me. He cocks the wheel and I have to turn to avoid getting hit. I feel the front-end slip. Fuck, I’ve hit a patch of ice! BAM! I’m in the ravine and smoke and metal are twisting up around me. My chest hits the steering column, but the seatbelt keeps me in place.

Fuck, that hurt. Kids are running up to me as I unbuckle and Mike pulls me out of the car. “My baby,” I say, kicking out as Mike grabs hold of me, pulling me back as the fire starts. He drags me up the ravine as kids look on and to my horror, the car goes up in flames. I can hear the doors all around me slamming shut, tires squealing as they all hightail it out of there, all the while somebody is screaming. Turns out that somebody is me.
