Meet The Author - Robin Rance

Welcome all.

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Robin Rance.

ME: Hi Robin Rance, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself and your background, where are you from?
ROBIN RANCE: I was a letter carrier with the US Post Office for twenty-four
years.  The stories I could tell you working in that job would fill two novels.  I retired early and now my husband and I live in hot Arizona.  I came here for the heat and love it. We have 17 grand kids between us, and 8 children.  This is the third one for each of us, and it's been a charm.  I work part time at an RV resort, and I love to write every chance I can get.

ME: Name of your books
ROBIN RANCE: I have quite a few that I've written, but my favorites to write were Introducing John Smith and Her Mid-Life Cravings

ME: What genre do you write?
ROBIN RANCE: I mostly write thought provoking Contemporary romance. With positive uplifting themes.

ME: Which writers inspire you?
ROBIN RANCE: Suzan Tisdale is my biggest inspiration. She is such a genuine person in real life and she is the one who encouraged me to write.

ME: What are you working on at the minute?
ROBIN RANCE: I'm working on three sequels, and a Christmas anthology with
9 other amazing authors.  All proceeds will be donated to St. Judes. Look for that one very soon.  Tentative title is, "Snowflakes from Heaven."

ME: Can you share a little of your current work with us?ROBIN RANCE: I'm also working on the sequel to More Heat. It's an undercover agent series which was based on someone I once knew. The sequel titled, Heated should be out by the end of September. I'm also
working on the sequel to Unforgettable Lexi Bella, and the next one in the 'Never Forget’ series
is Titled, Mind Over Matters.

ME: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
ROBIN RANCE: Actually, I've had many people tell me they would love to see my first book as a miniseries or movie.  The actor who would be perfect for the part of John Smith would be Chris Hemsworth, and the leading lady, Scarlett Johanson.

ME: When did you decide to become a writer?
ROBIN RANCE: About a year ago.  I kept dreaming the same story over and
over again, so I started writing it down.  After that one, I began dreaming others. I have a never-ending supply of books in my mind just waiting for me to share them.

ME: Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
ROBIN RANCE: Typewriter. I learned on an electric typewriter in High school 40 years ago.  I'm not fast, but I thank God that I took it now.

ME: Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just to see where an idea takes you?
ROBIN RANCE: I don't ever plot. I listen to my characters and go from there. I
start with a general idea, but I usually end up amazed at where my characters and my muse takes me.

ME: Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
ROBIN RANCE: I used to read at least 3 or 4 books a week.  Now I can only read in between writing a book.  I love Susan Tisdale, Aliya Dalrae, and I have a few more favorites. My reading started at the age of eleven with Edgar Rice Burroughs. I read everything he wrote. I also love Diana Gallbaldon who wrote the Outlander series.

ME: Do you think that giving books away free works and why?
ROBIN RANCE: I'm hoping so. It gets my books out there, and I now have a serious fan base who can't wait to read one of my books as soon as I put it out there.

ME: How do you relax?
ROBIN RANCE: I love to play in the Colorado River and read and write. If my grandkids are visiting, they are the best way.

ME: What is your favorite book and why?
ROBIN RANCE: I love the Outlander series, by Diana Galbaldon. I love
historical romance, and this series is the best of both worlds. Sexy characters who have come to life in my imagination. That's what a good book should do. Come to life and make you feel like you are a part of it.

ME: What is your favorite quote?
ROBIN RANCE: This quote is from my book, Her Mid-Life Cravings. "Drake, I come with a lot of baggage, but it does fit in my purse. I thought I’d found my happily ever after, and he just turned out to be the once upon a time. Will you be my happily ever after?"

ME: What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
ROBIN RANCE: Research, research and more research.  Take your time and do
it right the first time.  I lost a lot of fans because I rushed my first one into being published. My editor at the time sucked and I had to go back and reformat and edit many of my books, but I didn't know any better. It was a hard mistake to learn.

ME: What does your writing process look like?ROBIN RANCE: I have ideas popping up in my head all the time. I sit down and start writing, then once I get a good story started, I work on the covers and watch the whole thing come to life.

ME: What is your least favorite part of the publishing / writing process?
ROBIN RANCE: The editing part. I was never good at grammar and English. I sure wish I'd paid attention to those subjects now.

ME: Is there a certain type of scene that's harder for you to write than others? Love? Action? Racy?
ROBIN RANCE: I've written them all and loved every minute of it.

ME: Did you learn anything from writing your book(s) and what was it?
ROBIN RANCE: I've learned that I have a lot of life experiences to share, and I can do it through my writing.

ME: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
ROBIN RANCE: I have a huge fan who lives in the resort I work in.  She has bought everything of mine the second she sees it on line.

ME: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
ROBIN RANCE: Just the editing part. All the stories and characters are waiting for me to finish their stories.

ME: What book are you reading now?
ROBIN RANCE: I am writing again, but I just finished reading Butterfly Garden by Annette Blair. I loved it. Such a sweet sensual story about an Amish family.  Wow!

ME: Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
ROBIN RANCE: My Great, Great and many more greats was Jefferson Davis the confederate president. I would love to meet him.

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to write about?
ROBIN RANCE: My favorite theme has been sexy contemporary. I have two characters in my novellas that I fell in love with.  The next book in that series will be a full-length book and it will be hot!

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to read?
ROBIN RANCE: Historical time travel and romance.

ME: What secret talents do you have?
ROBIN RANCE: I am a fantastic cook, I put out a cook book actually with many of my own recipes.

ME: Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
ROBIN RANCE: Greece. I worked with Greek people for many years and I would love to visit that country.

ME: How can readers discover more about you and you work? i.e. Website: Blog: Facebook: Twitter: Lnkedin: Pinterest: Amazon Author Page: Smashwords: Book Links: (American, UK, etc.) Goodreads:

ME: Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
ROBIN RANCE: I'm not the most prolific writer, but my stories are great and they leave you with a big smile and feeling good. Check out one of them and you will be hooked.

ME: Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview.
ROBIN RANCE: Thank you so much for allowing me to tell you more about me!

Must Read Monday

HERE ARE A COUPLE OF BOOKS THAT I HAVE READ THAT YOU SHOULD TOO!

Just A Woman (The Porter Trilogy Book 2)
Author: Shannon Youngblood
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Blurb: Charlotte’s history, and Alex’s inability to speak the truth, fractured an already unstable relationship and sent Charlotte running in the opposite direction. However, a connection like theirs, one that is so palpable, cannot easily be broken. Alex is determined to right the wrongs done to Charlotte. But deep rooted scars from their respective and conjoined pasts have left both of them broken, afraid, and alone. To win her back, Alex knows he must do what he’s never done before; feel what he’s never allowed himself to feel. Yet, is it even possible for someone like Alex Porter to bring romance into his life? Is Charlotte capable to look past his lies by omission and let him back in? And once she does, can they both get around the never ending hurdles that seem to cross their path without causing their already shaky world, to crumble at their feet?
My Review: Just A Woman is part two in The Porter Trilogy and you need to read book 1 first to fully understand this book. With that being said I finished this book last night and waited until now to write my review hoping the words would come to me but I still don’t know what to say about this amazing second installment of a great series. I started this book yesterday morning and was finished by 11 pm last night because I just could not put it down. The characters are so well written that you can’t help but feel for them. The emotional roller coaster this book takes you on gives you all the fills, anger, sadness, suspense, laughter, joy, tears (both happy and sad), a few hot and steamy scenes to get you going, a few WTH moments with a huge twist at the end leaves you with your mouth hung open screaming for more. I don’t know how I am going to be able to wait for book 3 to come out so I can find out what happens next! This series is a must read!

My Hot Boss (A Romantic Comedy Standalone)
Author: Betty Shreffler
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Blurb: Emma
From the moment I met Grayson Cole, I knew he was someone I wanted to let in my panties and maybe, even in my heart. One night, one sexy-as-sin kiss, and several drinks later, our incredible evening turns into a disaster and I’m apologizing for the vomit spatter on his fancy, black shoes. I never thought I’d see him again after that, no matter how many nights I spent wishing I would. Until a month later, he waltzes into my office as—MY NEW, HOT BOSS.
I’m so screwed.
Grayson
She was meant to be a fun f*ck. That’s all I wanted. That’s all I needed. But Emma Williams could never be just that for me. The quirky, brunette vixen challenges me at every opportunity. My desire to have her has me working for her affections, like I’ve never done before. What is this woman doing to me? Not only am I her Boss, but I don’t do feelings. There’s only one way I see this ending.
I’m f*cked for sure.
My Review: Another amazing read by this author. This book is fun hot read. Emma just out of a bad break-up is dragged to a club with her best friend where she runs into Grayson, they hit it off right away, flirting and kissing until they go to leave and too much drinking leads to embarrassing moment for Emma and a busted phone leaves her alone and no way to find Grayson. One month later, Grayson walks into Emma’s office as her new boss. You get work place attraction, jealousy, damaged hearts from past relationships, a conniving relative and some insecurities, secrets. Trying to find out if they can make it work with all of these things against them makes for a page turning fun read with some smoking hot scenes and a few suspenseful moments. I would recommend this book as a one click must.

The Accalia (The Accalia Series Book 1)
Author: H L Girton
Genre: Paranormal & Urban
Blurb: After traveling the country with her aunt, Genesis Berkley finally feels like she is home. Settling in Tillamook, Oregon, she begins a new life and everything seems to be going smoothly. That is, until she runs into a mysterious young man.
The feelings that he awakens are unsettling, and soon, her simple, peaceful world shatters. Lies and secrets are revealed, and danger lurks in every corner.
Now, Genesis must discover if she is strong enough to fulfill her destiny. Will she learn to accept the truth before it is too late?
My Review: The Accalia is the debut book by author H L Girton and I am glad I got the chance to read this. When you hear paranormal or shifter or any book containing werewolves the first that is its going to be a insta-love type thing because of some imprint or mating bond and within 3 chapters max two strangers are in love and can’t keep their hands to themselves. This book however is so not the typical book about werewolves, in a great way. It was refreshing to read a new take on an over populated subject. This book has plenty of action, some suspense and romance in it. This is more of a coming of age or coming into your birthright story of an 18-year-old girl, Genesis who suddenly thrown into a paranormal world that she knew nothing about and has to deal with great lose, new found family, love for the first time and her birthright as the Accalia. I gave it for stars instead of 5 because I hate cliffhangers lol. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a different take on an old subject.

Ethan: NAC & The Holly Group (Alpha Team Book 5)
Author: Chelsea Handcock
Genre: Romance
Blurb: Ethan Lord has distinct tastes when it comes to women, ready, willing, and submissive. His life is simple—work and play. The two areas never intersect and that's the way he likes it. When he finds a pretty little thing kneeling at his feet ready, willing, and submissive, the mating instinct hits him like a Mack truck, and he isn't so sure he can keep the two separate much longer. So, he does the only thing he can think of, walk away, but not before leaving a lasting impression.

Sophie has been sent on a mission to infiltrate the Alpha Team in any way possible. She never thought that would mean being sent to a Sex Club and acting the part of a Submissive. Her thoughts, feelings, and views don't matter, the Overseer gave his instructions, and she must follow them. The lives of her sister, nephew, and her own depend on the outcome of this mission. She will do whatever it takes to complete it.
Too bad nothing ever goes as planned.
***WARNING: contains explicit sexual situations, violence, disturbingly sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language, and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and up***

My Review: First I must say I given this book with no promised in return and decided to post my honest opinion. This is a new author to me and Ethan was the first book I read by this author. Even though it is book 5 in the series I was able to follow the story line with no problem (can easily be read as a standalone) with that being said I am going back and getting books 1 – 4 and reading them as soon as I can because this book was great from the first page to the very end. The story line is easy to believe (in a world if shifters existed). The characters are believable and easy to find yourself rooting for them, yelling at them and getting angry for them. For a shifter book, I love the fact that this is not an insta-love story, even with the mating bond Ethan and Sophie fight their attraction for each other. Ethan is a true dominate alpha in every yummy since of the word and Sophie is strong and determined woman with a (submissive side in the bedroom). There is plenty of action, suspense, and some really hot and steamy scenes. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good shifter romance.

Meet the Author- JANE ANTHONY

Welcome all.

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Jane Anthony, author of Secrets & Promises, Chasing Casey, KADE: A Second Chance Rockstar Romance, Resurrecting Hope, Pretty Reckless.

ME: Hi Jane Anthony, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little  about yourself and your background?
JANE ANTHONY: I like to refer to myself as a fist-pumping Jersey girl. Music is really important to me. I'm an old soul with very eclectic tastes. I also love Halloween, coffee, cars, 80's pop trivia, and the Walking Dead.

ME: What genre do you write?
JANE ANTHONY: Contemporary & Erotic Romance

ME: Which writers inspire you?
JANE ANTHONY:  Honestly, I can't really say I'm inspired by any one particular person. I admire so many. Betty Shreffler for her confidence and never-ending drive to succeed, Dani Rene' for her ability to write so many amazingly beautiful stories so quickly, MNever for her knowledge and her wicked mind ...
Inspiration is so much more than just words on paper. It's the people behind the stories that influence me more than anything else.

ME: What are you working on at the minute?
JANE ANTHONY: Pretty Reckless took a lot out of me, so I'm taking a short break to recharge. I do have a few things in the works though ;)

ME: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
JANE ANTHONY: I just finished by 5th book Pretty Reckless. It went live yesterday and is now available on Amazon for the special sale price of just $0.99 until Saturday 8/26. I also have a give away for some cool prizes
you can enter at:   https://www.facebook.com/AuthorJaneAnthony/posts/494461984265263

ME: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
JANE ANTHONY: Oooh!!! I love this question! Hands down, Mila Kunis for Kat. Looks wise, the resemblance (at least in my own mind!) is spot on! Chase is a little harder. My muse for that character was Dawid Auguscik, who's a French tattoo model. His looks are perfect, as long as he doesn't speak ;)

ME: When did you decide to become a writer
JANE ANTHONY: When I was in middle school

ME: Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
JANE ANTHONY: Computer

ME: Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just to see where an idea takes you?
JANE ANTHONY: Kind of both? My first few novels were totally pants. I went into the chapters blind, flying by the seat of my pants. I still do that, for the most part, but I do take notes as ideas come to me. It's sort of a weird form of
outlining, I guess.

Me: Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors.
JANE ANTHONY: I don't read nearly as much as I should. It's pretty pathetic, really. When I do get the time to lose myself in a book, I usually reach for CM Stunich, Caisey Quinn, Jodi Picoult, or Dani Rene'. That being said, my Kindle is chock FULL of amazing authors just waiting to be read!

ME: Do you think that giving books away free works and why?
JANE ANTHONY: Yes and no. I have gotten some lifelong readers and friends from giving away free books, so I can't speak ill of it, but I still feel like there are a lot of book hoarders out there who simply want my book because it's free, not
because they want to read it.

ME: How do you relax?
JANE ANTHONY: I watch TV and play with my phone. It's a sickness. lol

ME:  What is your favorite book and why?
JANE ANTHONY: Believe it or not, 1984 by George Orwell. I read it in High School and it just blew my mind. It was the first book I'd ever read that stuck with me long after reading it.

ME: What is your favorite quote?

JANE ANTHONY: Any pizza is a personal pizza if you believe in yourself.

ME: What advice would you give to aspiring writers
JANE ANTHONY: The biggest of advice I could give is find your tribe. Put yourself out there, join groups, make friends. Don't be afraid to share ideas. Get silly. The people I've met through this crazy journey are some of the best friends I've ever had. They guide me, help me, build me up when I'm fail, hold me higher when I succeed. They are my daily support system, and I would be nothing without them. Writing is a solitary profession, but that doesn't mean you have to do it alone.

ME: What does your writing process look like?
JANE ANTHONY: You really want to take this trip inside the circus I call my brain??
It all starts with an idea. Could be something as simple as a dream I had, a scene
that plays out in my head - anything, really - then it gradually builds from there.
I blow out with the first few chapters right away. Starting a new story is the best. It's exciting and exhilarating. I love meeting the characters, forming the world, setting their personalities down - that part is my favorite. Then it starts to get hard...

Usually it goes like this:
20k words in: Angels are singing my praises. I'm a literary genius! This the best story I've ever written!
20k-30k: Oh shit ... I didn't expect that to happen. What do I do now?
30k-40k: I have no idea what to do with these fuckers. Oh my God, I hate them! I want to kill them both in a fiery inferno and start over! This is trash! The worst! I'm a talent-less hack!! I can't do this!
40k-50k: die die die!
50k +: Oh...The end. *tears* This story is so good! I can't wait to hear what my betas think!

ME: What is your least favorite part of the publishing / writing process?
JANE ANTHONY: The constant self doubt. I wish I was a more confident writer.

ME: Is there a certain type of scene that's harder for you to write than others? Love? Action? Racy?
JANE ANTHONY: The love scenes stress me out. I put way too much emphasis on myself to make sure they have a pleasing spice to emotion ratio. I often end up rewriting them all after they're written.

ME: Did you learn anything from writing your book(s) and what was it?
JANE ANTHONY: HAHAHA I learned how to bathe horses, how to fix an engine, how the court process in a custody trial works, and how long of a sentence one could potentially face for drug crimes.

ME: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
JANE ANTHONY: My tribe :)

ME: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
JANE ANTHONY: Promoting a book once it's finished. Writing a novel is only half the battle. The real work doesn't start until you've written "the end"

ME: What book are you reading now?
JANE ANTHONY: I just started Screw Up (Hard Rock Roots book 10) by CM Stunich

ME: Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
JANE ANTHONY: I got to meet MNever and Dani Rene' recently. That was too amazing for words.

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to write about?
JANE ANTHONY: Romance

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to read?
JANE ANTHONY: Romance :)

Me: What secret talents do you have?
JANE ANTHONY: You'd have to ask my husband (ha ha!). I can crochet. I don't mean just blankets either. I can make clothes, dolls, and hats, as well. Pretty much anything.

ME: Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
JANE ANTHONY: I don't know. Never gave the matter too much thought.

ME: How can readers discover more about you and you work? i.e. Website: Blog: Facebook: Twitter: Lnkedin: Pinterest: Amazon Author Page: Smashwords: Book Links: (American, UK, etc.) Goodreads:

Website    Newsletter    Twitter    Facebook

Facebook group: Jane's Addicted Romance Readers

Instagram    Amazon     Pinterest    Goodreads

ME: Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
JANE ANTHONY: My mother's maiden name and the street I grew up on. No, I think you've covered it all! :)

Me: Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview.
JANE ANTHONY: You're welcome!
