Meet the Author - JAMES CROW

Welcome all

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing James Crow author of SIX, SIX TOY, DARE & FOR HER SINS

ME:  Hi James, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
JAMES CROW: I’m from the UK and live in the middle of nowhere, which is ideal for outdoor dares and naked horse riding. But not so good for most bites on the balls.

ME: What genre do you write?
JAMES CROW: Hot and kinky. Hot and funny. Hot and dark. I’m working my way through all the hotness!

ME: What are you working on at the minute?
JAMES CROW: I’ve just finished working on For Her Sins, a rather funny and kinky erotic fantasy. To be released Oct 22, 2017

ME: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
JAMES CROW: Here’s the blurb for ‘FOR HER SINS’:
When you believe your greatest wish could never come true because your ass is too big, your confidence low, and even the world’s most flexible contortionists couldn’t pull off your filthy fantasy, you need to be careful what you wish for – especially when the Devil himself hears your bidding.

ME: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
JAMES CROW: Christina Rici would make a great Kirsty in FOR HER SINS. She’s filthy, wicked, and gorgeous. Yeah, she could dance well with the Devil.

ME: While you were writing, do you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?
JAMES CROW: Yeah, pretty much like an actor does, I suppose. You try to get into character, which can be weird when you become a 25-year-old woman playing with a cucumber

ME: When did you decide to become a writer?
JAMES CROW: I don’t think one decides to become a writer. If the voices are there, in your head, then yeah, you’re always a writer.

ME: Which writers inspire you?
JAMES CROW: Stephen King for his storytelling prowess, and Jade West for her expertise in high-conflict filth.

ME: Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
JAMES CROW: Computer every time. I need the speed.

ME: Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer to just see where an idea takes you?
JAMES CROW: Always outline, laying down the mileposts.

ME: Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors.
JAMES CROW: As above: Stephen King and Jade West. And I’m not opposed to having a nibble at Isabella Starling. I like her filthy mind.

ME: What book are you reading now?
JAMES CROW: BAIT by Jade West – high conflict dark erotica at its best.

ME: Do you think that giving books away free works and why?
JAMES CROW: Yes, it works because it expands your readership. Simple really.

ME: How do you relax?
JAMES CROW: Wine, women, and song. And wine. Then more wine. But now and then, when the mood is right, I do like to lick at the green fairy and take a sensual high – the best rides ever!

ME: What is your favorite quote?
JAMES CROW: “Remember that when you judge a book, the book is also judging you.” Stephen King.

ME: What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
JAMES CROW: Read – a lot. Write – a lot. Repeat.

ME: What does your writing process look like?
JAMES CROW: It begins with a messy doc of scribble, which turns into notes, which turns into scenes, which turns into story – eventually.

ME: What is your least favorite part of the publishing / writing process?
JAMES CROW: Social media …. Knowing how to work it. My nut-job mind finds it all difficult to navigate. Thankfully, my awesome PA Michelle McGinty’s sweet ass knows how to work it well, so she pulls my strings among other things. Oh, and she’s hot when she’s stern with me, which is pretty much every hour of every day  :D

ME: Is there a certain type of scene that's harder for you to write than others?
Love? Action? Racy?
JAMES CROW: Nope, whether I’m licking a clit or pegging a Dom or simply having a cup of tea – it’s all the same process of creation.

ME: Did you learn anything from writing your book(s) and what was it?
JAMES CROW: That I love to create something that someone else can enjoy, even be moved or changed by it. I’ve had many encouraging emails from readers thanking me because they’ve moved forward after reading my books. Oh, I also
learned how to carve vegetables and execute the shotgun.

ME: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
JAMES CROW: The entity that is my crowgirls readers group. They’re nuts. They’re lovely. Such a great, supportive bunch. I love ’em.

ME: Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
JAMES CROW: Derren Brown – his skills of word play and manipulation are similar to those employed in writing. That said, I’d like to ask him why he can’t write for toffee.

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to write about?
JAMES CROW: Filthy, erotic kink-fuckery, of course

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to read?
JAMES CROW: As above but with a bit of supernatural horror thrown in.

ME: What secret talents do you have?
JAMES CROW: I once played trumpet in an orchestra for a filmed ‘event’. The entire orchestra was standing naked in a swimming pool receiving BJ’s from girls dressed as mermaids. I remember the milky water at the end. Is that a talent? I also have a talent for lying.

ME: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
JAMES CROW: Ohhh, how about an orgasmic glare? One wink from me and your pussy gushes!! Or how about shooting webbing from my palms like Spiderman… imagine getting stick with the jiggy!

ME: Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
JAMES CROW: Outer space for sex. Even if it’s just a ride in the vomit comet – you know that plane that flies high then suddenly dives and you experience weightlessness – I’d like to fuck like that.

ME: How can readers discover more about you and you work? i.e. Website: Blog: Facebook: Twitter: Lnkedin: Pinterest: Amazon Author Page: Smashwords: Book Links: (* American, UK, etc.) Goodreads. Please include
