Meet the Author - BRIANNA WEST

Welcome all
Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Brianna West author of:

Promiscus Guardians series: Awakening: book 1, Metamorphosis: book 2, Dawning book 3, Resurrection: book 4

Guardians In Love series: Victor: book 1, Pavel: book 2, Bernie: book 3

The Underground Guardians: When Darkness Breaks: book 1

ME:  Hi Brianna, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself and your background.
BRIANNA WEST: Well, I hail from Sacramento, California. I'm a mother of four kids and married to my knight in shining armor. I've been writing all of my life, but never thought about doing it for a living until two years ago. But as far as my history, there's no skeletons in this closet (or is there?).

ME: What genre do you write?
BRIANNA WEST: Paranormal/Fantasy Romance

ME: What are you working on at the minute?
BRIANNA WEST: Currently, I'm re-editing my book When Darkness Breaks in preparation for writing the second book in the series.

ME: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
BRIANNA WEST: You can get it from wherever ebooks are sold: https://books.pronoun.com/when-darkness-breaks/

ME: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from
your most recent book?
BRIANNA WEST: Amanda Seyfried for the part of Nyla in my recent release Bernie

ME: While you were writing, do you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?
BRIANNA WEST: It's without saying, Izzy from my Promiscus Guardians series is modeled after myself. So, yes.

ME: When did you decide to become a writer?
BRIANNA WEST: After I suffered a terrible loss, I put all of my emotions into my first book Awakening and was encouraged to publish. That's what led to the last two years.

ME: Which writers inspire you?
BRIANNA WEST: Any writer that pursues their dreams. I don't really idolize any, because each writer I've read offers something unique. I simply wish to offer my own unique writing style and stories.

ME: Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?
BRIANNA WEST: Computer. I'm a quick typer.

ME: Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer to just see where an idea takes you?
BRIANNA WEST: I run with it and my characters. I let them decide where and how we go. I have an overall idea where I'd like to end up, but there's no promise I'll make it there, haha.

ME: Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors.
BRIANNA WEST: I don't get to read very often. Having joined the indie community, I've been honored enough to read some amazingly talented indie
writers, such as: Kris Johnston, Nicole Strycharz, Aaron Speers, Phil Price, and K.J. Chapman. However, my first love was Jane Austen.

ME: What book are you reading now?
BRIANNA WEST: I'm currently in the midst of reading Kris Johnston's RIP series, book two--Rage in Pain, Roz and Unknown by Phil Price.

ME: Do you think that giving books away free works and why?
BRIANNA WEST: Yes, because my first book is part of a four-part series, if they enjoy it, they'll enjoy the rest and want to buy.

ME: How do you relax?
BRIANNA WEST: I watch Netflix or read manga, or write.

ME: What is your favorite quote?
BRIANNA WEST: "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all."

ME: What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
BRIANNA WEST: Just write. Don't hesitate. Don't worry. Don't let anyone how. Ultimately, you are your biggest critic.

ME: What does your writing process look like?
BRIANNA WEST: A little like an organized mad woman. I set daily goals and
don't quit until the book is finished.

ME: What is your least favorite part of the publishing / writing process?
BRIANNA WEST: The third and fourth edit lol.

ME: Is there a certain type of scene that's harder for you to write than others? Love? Action? Racy?
BRIANNA WEST: Hmm, not really. I guess that the love scenes can be a bit tough when you're worried how they might come across. Too much? Too little? Too normal? Too unrealistic? Too quick? Too slow? There's a lot riding on love scenes.

ME: Did you learn anything from writing your book(s) and
what was it?
BRIANNA WEST: I learned that there are people out there just as perverse as I am. Just as crazy and fun-loving. I also learned that everyone is going to have an opinion, and sometimes, those opinions won't match your own. It's okay to say that those ones don't matter. In hindsight, they don't. Only yours truly does.

ME: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
BRIANNA WEST: Truly, my author community. My bestie, April, too. But lovelies like Kate, Kristy, you (V), Kelley, Trisha, Sammy, Kayleigh, and Laura have all played a vital role. I can name so many others, but truly, this has been an incredibly supportive community.

ME: Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
BRIANNA WEST: I would love to meet Jane Austen. I can only imagine how
truly interesting she was, especially for all of the things she did in spite of living in a "man's world."

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to write about?
BRIANNA WEST: Romance with as much paranormal as I can fit into it

ME: What is your favorite theme/genre to read?
BRIANNA WEST: Paranormal Romance. Always.

ME: What secret talents do you have?
BRIANNA WEST: I'm an uber pervert, capable of bringing out perverse tendencies in even the most innocent of individuals.

ME: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
BRIANNA WEST: Pervert Power

ME: Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
BRIANNA WEST: Scotland

ME: How can readers discover more about you and you work? i.e. Website: Blog: Facebook: Twitter: Lnkedin: Pinterest: Amazon Author Page: Smashwords: Book Links: (* American, UK, etc.) Goodreads.
BRIANNA WEST:

ME: Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
BRIANNA WEST: I love you. Like this much. *stretches arms out as far as they go*

ME: Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview.
BRIANNA WEST: Thank you lovely
